At Study File Tools (“we”, “our”, “us”), we care deeply about your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our site and tools.
1) What We Collect
We do not collect your personal details such as your name, email address, phone number, or account information.
- Usage data (non-personal): pages visited, buttons clicked, device/browser type, approximate city-level location, referrer (e.g., Google search). This helps us understand which tools are useful.
- Anonymous token (cookie): we may set a random anonymous token (e.g., ANON_TOKEN) to protect our APIs from abuse and apply fair rate limits. This token does not identify you.
2) File Processing & Retention
Our tools (e.g., image compression, PDF merge/split) work in one of two ways:
- In-browser processing: some tools run entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
- Secure server processing: for tasks that need a server, files are transmitted over HTTPS, processed in memory or temporary storage, and automatically deleted shortly after the operation completes. We do not permanently store, index, or reuse your files. We never use your files for analytics, AI training, or advertising.
3) Cookies & Local Storage
- Strictly necessary: a privacy-safe anonymous token and short-lived state that helps our service work and prevents abuse.
- Analytics (optional): if enabled, Google Analytics sets cookies to measure anonymous traffic and interactions (see Section 4). These do not include personal identifiers.
You can control cookies via your browser settings. In jurisdictions that require consent (e.g., EU), we will honor your choice and only load analytics after consent.
4) Analytics
We may use Google Analytics 4anonymized to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. Google Analytics collects aggregated, non-identifying usage data (e.g., pages, events, device). We configure GA to:
- Not collect PII: we do not send names, emails, or file contents to Google.
- Respect privacy: IP anonymization is enabled; reports are aggregated.
- Honor opt-outs: you can use the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.

5) Do Not Track
We respect common privacy preferences and aim to minimize tracking by default. Where supported, we avoid non-essential scripts unless consented.
6) Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
7) Data Security
- All transfers occur over HTTPS.
- Temporary files used in server-side processing are auto-deleted after completion or after a short expiry.
- We implement rate limiting, strict Content Security Policy, and other modern safeguards to reduce abuse and data exposure.
8) Third-Party Links
Our website may link to third-party sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
9) Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
